Magic Eight Ball takes a stab at your questions for this month

It’s the second Thursday of the month, so what better time to whip out my Magic Eight Ball and ask it a few “yes or no” questions.

This month’s set of questions came to me via e-mail and Facebook. Below you’ll find the unedited questions and answers to the questions that I asked my Magic Eight Ball on Monday.

Diane asked: Will a big, multi-screen movie theatre ever really be built in Evergreen?
Answer: No way!

Chris asked: If the theatre project does become a reality, will it also bring some nice restaurants to town too?
Answer: My sources say no.

Jeff asked: Is it true that a large bowling alley will also be a part of this project?
Answer: Definitely.

Johnnie asked: Will the Town of Repton be successful in its lawsuit against the Conecuh County Commission, Conecuh Woods and the Alabama-Tombigbee Regional Commission regarding the proposed landfill near Repton?
Answer: Definitely.

John asked: Will it result in the overturning of the commission’s vote to approve a landfill permit near Repton?
Answer: Maybe.

Nancy asked: If so, will an entirely new slate of commissioners be around to vote on any new landfill permit applications?
Answer: No way!

Virginia asked: Will the incumbents fair well in the coming county elections?
Answer: Definitely.

Sam asked: Will the job market pick up in Conecuh County in the next 12 months?
Answer: No way!

Robert asked: How about in surrounding counties?
Answer: Outlook not so good.

Scott asked: Will Alabama’s football team bounce back from its three-point loss to LSU on Saturday?
Answer: Yes.

Francis asked: Will Alabama win its last three regular season games, including the Iron Bowl?
Answer: Maybe

Terry asked: Will Alabama beat Auburn this year?
Answer: No way!

Glen asked: Will the game even be close?
Answer: Yes.

Joe asked: If Alabama plays LSU in a rematch in the BCS Championship Game, will Alabama win?
Answer: My sources say no.

Preston asked: Will Alabama running back Trent Richardson win this year’s Heisman Trophy?
Answer: My sources say no.

Alan asked: Will Missouri be a competitive member of the SEC?
Answer: Absolutely!

James asked: What about Texas A&M?
Answer: Outlook not so good.

Ralph asked: Will Tuskegee University, led by former Hillcrest quarterback Justin Nared, win this year’s Turkey Day Classic against Alabama State?
Answer: Outlook not so good.

Larry asked: Will Julio Jones be named this year’s NFL Rookie of the Year?
Answer: Yes.

Pat asked: Will the New Orleans Saints make it to the Super Bowl this year?
Answer: No way!

I asked: Should readers take this month’s round of Eight Ball questions and answer seriously?
Answer: Outlook not so good.

With that said, I guess I’ll give my old Eight Ball a rest for a few weeks and close this thing out until the second Thursday in December.

In the meantime, if you’ve got a question you want me to ask my Magic Eight Ball, e-mail it to me at courantsports@earthlink.net, and I’ll publish the answers in the Dec. 8 edition of The Courant.
