New 'Ghost Recon' novel appears on best-sellers list this week

Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Seller List. According to the list, there are three new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.

"Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn replaced "The Racketeer" by John Grisham as the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list.

"Shred: The Revolutionary Diet: 6 Weeks 4 Inches 2 Sizes" by Ian K. Smith replaced "Killing Kennedy" by Bill O'Reilly as the top book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list.

"Big Sky River" by Linda Lael Miller replaced "Safe Haven" by Nicholas Sparks as the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list.

"Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander remained the No. 1 book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list for the sixth week in a row.

There were four books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included "Empire and Honor" by W.E.B. Griffin and William Butterworth IV (2), "Shadow Woman: A Novel" by Linda Howard (7), "The Hobbit, or There and Back Again" by J.R.R. Tolkien (14) and "Two Graves" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (15).
