'American Sniper' bio returns to the top of the best-sellers list

Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to the lists, there are two new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.

"Shred: The Revolutionary Diet: 6 Weeks 4 Inches 2 Sizes" by Ian K. Smith replaced "The Legend of Zelda" by Shigeru Miyamoto as the top book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list.

"American Sniper" by Chris Kyle, Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice replaced "Betrayal" by Danielle Steel as the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list.

"Until the End of Time" by Danielle Steel remained the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list for the second straight week.

"Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander remained the No. 1 book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list for the 11th week in a row.

There were two books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included "Touch & Go" by Lisa Gardner (3) and "Deadly Stakes" by J.A. Jance (12).

There were three books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Pursued: God's Divine Obsession with You" by Jud Wilhite (4),"Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape" by Jenna Miscavige (14) and "Wheat Belly Cookbook: 150 Recipes to Help You Lose the Wheat, Lose Weight, and Find Your Path Back to Health" by William Davis (15).

There were five books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "American Sniper" by Chris Kyle, Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice (1), "The Last Mountain Man" by William W. Johnstone (9), "The Trail West' by William W. Johnstone (10), "The Hunter" by John Lescroat (11) and "Captivated & Entranced" by Nora Roberts and Therese Plummer (15).

There were four books on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "From Mama's Table to Mine: Everybody's Favorite Comfort Foods at 350 Calories or less" by Bobby Deen and Melissa Clark (3),"Grow Regardless: Of Your Business's Size, Your Industry or the Economy...and Despite the Government!" by Joe Mechlinski and Charles Green (8), "Rush" by Maya Banks (13) and "Crystal Cove" by Lisa Kleypas (14).

As a reminder, I’m posting these lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary recommended reading list.
