'William Shakespeare's Star Wars' debuts on best-sellers list this week

Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to those lists, there is only one new book at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.

"Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander replaced "Joyland" by Stephen King as the top book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list.

"Inferno" by Dan Brown remained the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list for the second straight week.

"Happy, Happy, Happy: My Life and Legacy as the Duck Commander" by Phil Robertson and Mark Schlabach retained the top spot on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list for the tenth straight week.

"Friends Forever: A Novel" by Danielle Steel remained the No. 1 book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list for the second straight week.

There were five books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list lat week. They (and their places on the list) included "Hidden Order" by Brad Thor (2), "Bombshell" by Catherine Coulter (3), "The Light in the Ruins" by Chris Bohjalian (13), "William Shakespeare's Star Wars" by Ian Doescher (14) and "Big Girl Panties" by Stephanie Evanovich (15).

There were four books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "I Wear the Black Hat" by Chuck Klosterman (8), "The FastDiet" by Michael Mosley (13), "Killing Kennedy" by Bill O'Reilly (14) and "The Legend of Zelda" by Shigeru Miyamoto (15).

There was only one book on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that wasn’t on the list last week - "The Eleventh Commandment" by Jeffrey Archer, which came in at No. 9 on the list.

There were two books on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Quiet" by Susan Cain (13) and "Tell the Wolves I'm Home" by Carol Rifka Brunt (14).

As a reminder, I’m posting these lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary recommended reading list.
