Brantley, Alabama deer hunter reports seeing 'strange looking' UFO

Photograph of Feb. 19 Brantley, Alabama UFO.
It’s the second Thursday of the month, so this week I’m giving you an update on UFO reports in Alabama from the previous month, courtesy of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). A search for UFO reports in Alabama between Feb. 1 and Feb. 28 on MUFON’s website, www.mufon.com, resulted in five reports from within our state during that time.

The first incident took place on Wed., Feb. 1, at 6:25 p.m. near Remlap, which is in Blount County, north of Birmingham. The witness in this case was driving north on State Highway 79, headed to her mother’s house with her daughter. Suddenly, they saw two strobing lights move across the sky from east to west, just above the tree tops, the witness said. A jet plane was flying closely behind it, so low that the witness could see the landing gear doors beneath the plane, the witness said.

All of this happened in the space of a few seconds, and the daughter began “freaking out” because the incident scared her, the witness said. Two minutes later, the witnesses arrived at their destination and went inside, only to be told that the occupants had heard a “roaring, rumbling noise that vibrated the house.” The woman said that she and her daughter were in “shock” over the incident, “not really believing” what they saw.

The second incident occurred on Fri., Feb. 3, at 2:01 p.m. The witness in this case didn’t say where it occurred other than to say that it happened in Alabama. The witness said that he and his father were in a car, waiting at a stop light, when the incident began.

The witness said he looked out his window, toward the west-northwest, when he saw a “bulky” craft in the sky. As he watched, this “definite, unknown” craft broke into two sections, and they began to fall slowly towards the ground, leaving trails of smoke and debris.

The third incident occurred on Sun., Feb. 5, at 3:18 a.m. in Heflin, which is in Cleburne County, not far from the Georgia state line. The witness in this case said that in the middle of the night, his small dogs started “barking up a storm, a little more than usual,” so he got up to let them outside. Both dogs immediately ran to woods on the corner of his property, the man said.

The man noticed a rustling in the tall grass among the trees, but he couldn’t see what was causing the disturbance. However, the man sensed something was there, and the “presence” he felt made his head “ache almost instantaneously,” he said. The man got “real spooked” and noted that his dogs appeared “frozen in fear,” he said.

The man picked up his dogs, went back inside, locked all of his doors and attempted to call a cousin who lived down the road. However, the phone “just gave static” as did the TV when he switched it on.

Suddenly, in that moment, he looked out the window in time to see a “teardrop-shaped craft” hovering above the tree-line. The man said that the craft was “pretty far” away, but clearly visible. The man also noted that the craft had red, pulsating lights.

The fourth incident was reported on Mon., Feb. 20, and comes from a witness near Brantley, which is in Crenshaw County, not far from Evergreen. The witness in this case said that he’d been seeing a “strange looking” object in the sky on and off for about two weeks prior to his report and he’d tried his best to determine what it was.

On Sun., Feb. 19, the witness was deer hunting and about 45 minutes after dark he climbed down out of his shooting house. As he walked back towards home, he looked back toward the shooting house and spotted the unusual object again in the sky.

The witness took pictures of the object and posted five of them online along with his report. Each of the photos showed a bluish-white, disc-shaped object with what appeared to be a small dark circle offset from the center. The edges of the object were blurry, most likely due to the photographer’s distance from the object.

The fifth and final incident of the month occurred on Fri., Feb. 24, at around 8:45 p.m. near Hayden, which is also in Blount County, not far from Remlap. The witness in this case was outside with her husband watching a lightning storm in the northern sky when she noticed a bright object off to the left. She continued to watch as the object headed straight toward the lightning storm, and at one point it seemed to slow down and dim. Just as quick, the object grew brighter as it picked up speed.

“At first, I thought it was a falling star and immediately pointed the object out to my husband since he had his back towards it,” she said. “The object was bright silver and shaped like a bullet or a cigar, flying horizontal with the ground.”

The object left a silver trail of light in its wake, and right after the woman pointed it out to her husband, it seemed to slow down and dim for a few seconds before it brightened and picked up speed.

Before closing out this week, I just want to put it out there again that I would be very interested to hear from anyone who have witnessed a UFO, especially in Conecuh County. I think a lot of other people would be interested in hearing your story too, and I’m willing to accept your report anonymously.
